How Elyndo uses AI

You choose what becomes part of your plan.

Elyndo uses AI for one job: reading a syllabus you import and suggesting a schedule. Here is when that happens, what is shared, and how you stay in control.

When AI is used

  • Only when you start a syllabus import, answer a question about one, or ask for a revision.
  • Before the first read, Elyndo shows what will be shared and asks for your permission.
  • A photo or scan uses 3 credits, and Elyndo asks you to confirm before it starts.
  • Everything else in your planner works without AI.

What is shared

With your permission, Elyndo’s service sends:

  • The syllabus text, or for a photo or scanned document, the original image or file and its text.
  • The file’s name, type and page count.
  • Today’s date, your time zone and the day your week starts, so dates like “next Thursday” resolve correctly.
  • The matched course’s name, term name and dates, time zone, section, meeting times, and its existing task titles, kinds and deadlines, so Elyndo doesn’t create duplicates.
  • For a revision, your answers and the current extracted schedule, including your review edits.

Other courses’ deadlines are not sent unless you turn on clash checking in Settings › AI & Credits. The rest of your planner is not sent.

What each provider publishes

Elyndo’s service sends each read directly to the provider’s own API. Here is what each provider says publicly about that kind of request:

  • Anthropic (photos and scans) says it deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, unless it must keep them longer to enforce its usage policy or to comply with the law. Content flagged for violating that policy can be kept for up to 2 years. Anthropic also says that by default it does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products, including the API, to train its models. Sources: data retention, model training.
  • DeepSeek (files with text): Elyndo has not verified API-specific retention, training or processing locations for downstream content. The general consumer privacy policy explicitly excludes that processing, so its claims do not establish these facts. We do not promise zero retention or no training. Sources: Open Platform terms, general policy scope.
  • Elyndo’s service forwards the authorized content and keeps separate credit, purchase and reading metadata. It does not store syllabus bodies in the credit ledger. The host may process network and security information. See the privacy policy for the data inventory and retention rules. No special zero-retention agreement has been established.

Provider sources were checked October 24, 2026. Published defaults do not verify this service’s account settings, opt-ins, processing locations or contractual exceptions.

Your controls

  • Manage AI permission and clash checking in Settings › AI & Credits.
  • Withdrawing permission makes the next read or revision ask again. It doesn’t recall information already sent.
  • You can always create courses and tasks yourself, without AI.

Checking the results

AI can make mistakes. Every suggested item shows the syllabus text it came from and how confident Elyndo is, and nothing is added to your planner until you review it.
